  THE PAST

Mar Thomas Tharayil

In 1962, MAR THOMAS THARAYIL, Bishop of Kottayam, in collaboration with the selected few of German benevolent people started the venture of health care naming it ‘CARITAS’. Spread over 25 acres of scenic hinterlands, 4 kilometers from Government Medical College and just seven kilometers from Kottayam, CARITAS is the embodiment of modern medical care.
